Picture 1 (2).JPGU Mumba fought hard but fell short by 2 points losing the game 36-38 in the 2nd match of the home leg against the Gujarat Fortune Giants in the 6th Vivo Pro Kabaddi League at Dome, NSCI.

Gujarat started the game strong picking up crucial points, a hasty decision by Fazel to take a review proved unsuccessful and U Mumba lost their only review within the first 10 minutes. With Gujrat leading 7-5 and only Vinod Kumar and Rohit Rana on the field, U-Mumba were facing an all-out but a super tackle & subsequent raid from Rohit Baliyan brought the team back to life & helped U Mumba take an 11-7 lead. Gujarat Giants got back in the game to score a few quick points including an all-out to lead 15-12 with less than 4 minutes in the first half. A sloppy defence saw both Dharmaraj & Surinder go out in the dying moments of the first half. U-Mumba was trailing 18-14 in the first half.

U Mumba caught up quickly in the second half with Siddharth & Rohit clinching crucial raid points and inflicting an all-out which helped U-Mumba take a lead for the first time in the match leading the game by 25-21 with 11 minutes to go. Soon after a disastrous tackle saw all 5 U-Mumba players out of the game leading to an all-out giving a 4 point lead at 34-30 to Gujarat with less than 3 minutes to go. U-Mumba team looked out of sorts as Darshan Kadiyan was caught napping during his raid and was tackled by Sunil Kumar to make the scoreline 37-34 in favour of Gujrat.  A tackle by and a raid by Siddharth showed promise but U Mumba ran out of time eventually losing the game 36-38.

Siddharth Desai made 12 points from 20 raids and earned a tackle point, meanwhile, Rohit Baliyan scored 7 points from 11 raids including 2 tackle points. Fazel had a rare quiet game scoring 3 tackle points in 6 attempts while Vinod Kumar had a good outing scoring 5 tackle points in 6 tackles including one super tackle.
