yogaThe tendency of the body is to be lazy and that of the mind to be wavering. So, inspired by nature, yoga was developed as a practice to help the body move and keep the mind still.

21 June, declared as International Yoga Day promotes the cleaning and development of the human body – physical, mental and spiritual.

Regular Yoga practice helps cleanse the tissues through the stretching of the muscle and helping the internal system throw back the toxic waste in the most natural way.  Yoga is considered the science of modern lifestyle which makes for a better living.

The world around has embraced yoga and it is getting immensely popular.  Senior Citizens and even the Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi, has taken to promoting Yoga for all the goodness it brings to one’s life.

Celebrity moms from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Kim Kardashian and Madonna to Shilpa Shetty, we see how they have bounced back to good health by following this discipline.

A recent visit to Mandeep’s Hot yoga center in my neighborhood was an eye opener, this unique way of burning calories and detoxifying was very nouveau and seem to work well with men and women alike.  As it not only accustoms the body to adjust to the change in climate instantly but to also remain calm and unwavering.

Celebrity actresses Rakhee Sawant and Arshi Khan along with a few other newsmakers demonstrated this art of Yoga.  “As a daily practice, we would start our day by performing our daily Yoga routine. Besides that, we intend to spread the word about yoga and join the practice.” says Rakhee.

Arshi quipped “It’s about re-discovering the core of your creative self & feeling mirthful from within.” further adding “In today’s fast-paced life people have forgotten the importance of yoga and it has thus lost its precedence. Yoga should be practiced & performed not merely as an exercise but by self-contemplating & seeking the truth and purpose of life.”

Around the globe, men too have been known to practice Yoga and are doing well for themselves.

Back in Mumbai, Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty practices yoga and even has her own yoga video which was launched to showcase its benefits to her followers. Other icons to follow suit are Jacqueline Fernandez,  Malaika Arora Khan, Kareena Kapoor all who have benefitted tremendously with this art form.
